Head of Department - Product Development Engineering

As Head of Engineering - Product Development, you will play a key role within our organization. As a true leader, you will manage a team of engineers and technicians dedicated to creating, improving, and delivering new products. You will ensure compliance with processes, continuous improvement, and technical excellence in order to position the engineering function as a benchmark in the industry.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to:

• Monitor the product development process and ensure that each step is completed
• Manage team capacity and resource allocation across different projects
• Supervise team performance in terms of deadlines, costs, and quality of deliverables
• Manage budgets and resources
• Mentor, coach, and supervise team members to promote their progress and performance
• Collaborate with various departments within the company (purchasing, process, production, etc.) to ensure project success
• Support the current product line and propose improvements

With the following skills and qualities, you will be successful in this role:

• University degree in engineering recognized in Quebec
• 5 to 10 years of experience in a field related to managing an engineering team in product development
• 4 or more years of experience in a position involving personnel management
• Excellent command of English (100% of communications with English-speaking clients)
• Ability to make decisions in uncertain situations
• Leadership and coaching skills
• Ability to see the big picture
