What's a fun internship like?

Finding an internship that balances office and field work is possible at Soucy! As an automation intern, you will have the opportunity to participate in robotics, automation, and control projects on our production equipment. You will be part of an experienced and dedicated team. If you enjoy innovation, programming, and the manufacturing environment, this internship is for you.


In this internship, you will have the opportunity to :


  • Assess customer needs, understand their processes, and refer to bid specifications in order to program equipment accordingly
  • Participate in establishing budgets and schedules in collaboration with the project manager
  • Design operating theories and safety systems and conduct risk assessments
  • Participate in programmable logic controller programming, configuration, operator interface (HMI, history systems, SCADA), and networking
  • Commission programmed systems
  • Write factory testing and acceptance procedures
  • Supervise our external partners for software projects
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and optimization and propose solutions
Profile With the following skills and qualities, you will be successful:


  • Bachelor's degree in automated production engineering or robotics engineering
  • Interest in developing software for machines, automated systems, or robotics in the manufacturing industry
  • Curiosity and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work in a team

Here's what you'll have the opportunity to learn during your internship: Controllers: Allen Bradley (Studio 5000, RS500, CCW), SIEMENS; HMI/SCADA programming: Inductive automation (Ignition), Allen Bradley (FactoryTalk View Studio), Schneider (Vijeo designer); Robots: Fanuc and Kuka; Languages: SQL and Java
