MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR
Salary Range: $64,350 to $80,440 per year
1.0 FTE Permanent
The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Coordinator for the Facility Services Department. Reporting to the Manager of Maintenance and Environmental Services, the Maintenance Coordinator provides collaborative and organizational support to maintenance supervisors and the team, including file and data management responsibilities. This position will be responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the maintenance team to ensure efficient service delivery and compliance with organizational standards. The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating and facilitating training for maintenance staff, assisting with the recruiting and onboarding process for new employees, and the organization of preventative maintenance programs. Additional responsibilities include managing documentation, coordinating small projects, supporting dispatch operations, collecting and analyzing data, overseeing warranty compliance, and maintaining the maintenance file database. The successful candidate may be required to work outside of regular business hours to assist with department priorities.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Two (2) year college diploma and/or certificate in post-secondary education in Facilities Management, Building Maintenance, Engineering technology, or related field, or related equivalent experience;
- More than three (3) years of related experience in maintenance coordination, facilities management, or a related role;
- Working knowledge of custodial and maintenance procedures, equipment, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Fire Code, WHMIS, WSIB, Building Code, Labour Relations, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, and SCDSB policies & procedures;
- Strong oral / written communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Proficiency with computers and programs such as O365, SharePoint, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, MS Word, and the ability to adapt to other programs;
- Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is required; experience with the SCDSB internal work order system, Megamation, would be an asset;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to take initiative;
- Previous experience in a unionized environment is preferred;
- The successful candidate must possess a valid driver's licence - class G or greater. The successful candidate will be required to provide a copy of their driver's licence and an acceptable three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report from the Ministry of Transportation;
- The nature of this position will require the successful candidate to travel large geographical areas;
- Other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time permanent position. The regular work year for this position is twelve (12) months of the year. The compensation range for this twelve (12) month position is $64,350 to $80,440 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This position is based on a thirty-five (35) hour work week.
Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees,
even if currently in receipt of an OMERS pension.
