Position Title: UX Accessibility Consultant

Duration: 6 months

Remote/Hybrid: once a week and every 2nd Friday

Office Location: 181 bay st 18th

Work Schedule (hours per week, start time): 37.5 Hours/week, 9-5 Monday to Friday



Job Description: As part of the Digital Banking team, you’ll ensure our employee-facing platforms and applications are universally accessible for employees of all abilities. You’ll work closely with the different UX disciplines - Content Writers, Visual Designers and UX Researchers. You’ll also closely collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers and QA Testers. You’ll ensure our products and designs meet digital accessibility standards while providing the best banking experience for both employees and clients. You’ll make recommendations for design and build which align with The Bank's inclusive design standards so any employee using assistive technologies can use our customer servicing tools.


Responsibilities

• You’re an Accessibility Champion: You’ll help create an inclusive environment by making our stakeholders, development partners, executives and designers understand the need to consider accessibility with every design decision.

• You’re a WCAG Subject Matter Expert: You are comfortable citing and explaining WCAG to justify and support recommendations and best practices.

• You‘re an Assistive Technology expert: You’ll use various assistive technologies such as screen readers to not only test the usability and accessibility of our applications, but also demonstrate the user experience.

• You can research and present findings: You’ll actively participate in user research and use the results to make accessibility recommendations. You’ll present cases for change in a compelling manner to stakeholders.

• You demonstrate leadership, experience and initiative: You’ll coach and mentor junior members of the team.

• You’re user centric: You have the desire to be first in class from an accessibility perspective so that all our employees can use the tools we provide to help our clients make their ambition a reality.

• You communicate with confidence: You use your powers of communication to speak about accessibility guidelines with authority. Your solid interpersonal skills are a must for collaborating with diverse stakeholders, product owners and internal pod members. You’ll support and lead activities which focus on articulating the value of inclusive design to our internal partners.


Must Have Requirement:


1. Web Accessibility experience - 3 years

2. WCAG - 3 years

3. Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint experience - 3 years

4. Familiarity with HTML

5. Experience in digital space - 3 years

6. Strong communication skills


Nice to Have:


1. UX tools such as Figma and Mural.
