Test Engineer to develop comprehensive test automation frameworks, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines while working across React frontend and Python bac

Duration: 9 months contract

Location - Downtown (Near King Station) - Hybrid - Twice a week on site

40 hours/week

Responsibilities:

· Participate and contribute in all agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily scrums and retrospectives

· Design and implement comprehensive test automation frameworks for React frontend and Python backend applications

· Create and maintain automated tests for REST APIs, web applications, and AWS cloud services

· Develop and execute performance testing strategies using appropriate tools and frameworks

· Work collaboratively with developers and product owners to define test coverage and acceptance criteria

· Implement continuous testing within CI/CD pipelines

· Build and maintain test infrastructure and environments in AWS

· Create and maintain test data management solutions

· Identify and implement testing metrics and quality gates

· Perform code reviews of test automation code

· Contribute to overall quality improvement initiatives and testing best practices

· Monitor and report on test coverage, execution results, and quality metrics

Must Haves:

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

· 3+ years of experience in test automation engineering

· Experience working in agile cross-functional teams

· Strong programming skills in Python or JavaScript

· Modern test automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright)

· Experience leveraging AI coding assistants and LLMs to improve code quality, accelerate development, and implement best practices

· Proven experience testing REST APIs and web applications

· Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline)

· Solid understanding of test automation best practices and patterns

· Proficiency with version control systems (Git)

· Experience with test management tools (JIRA, Xray)

· Working knowledge of REST APIs, messaging systems, and databases

· Familiarity with AWS services and cloud testing

Nice to Have:

· Experience with performance and security testing is a plus
