Technical Project Manager/Infrastructure Supervisor to support large cybersecurity initiative with client in public sector

Location: Hamilton, ON

Onsite 2 days/week - Tues/Wed MANDATORY - the schedule will alternate between two days onsite, then three days, and back to two days, and so on.

Hours: 35hr/wk

Contract: 5 Months + extension

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager / Team Lead with a strong background in IT infrastructure, including network and compute environments. This role is responsible for leading technical teams, managing complex infrastructure projects, and ensuring operational excellence across core IT services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor the infrastructure team across network, compute, and related technology domains.
• Plan, execute, and deliver technical infrastructure projects, ensuring timelines, scope, and quality targets are met.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to support architecture, design, and troubleshooting activities.
• Drive effective change management practices aligned with ITIL standards.
• Facilitate conflict resolution within the team and across stakeholders to maintain smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance with IT governance, risk, and control (GRC) frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance infrastructure reliability, performance, and security.
• Prepare clear documentation, status updates, and communication for leadership and project stakeholders.

People & Project Management:

• Manage daily team operations, workload distribution, and performance expectations.
• Coach and develop team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects, prioritizing effectively and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Build strong relationships with internal partners and vendors to support project delivery and operational needs.

Qualifications:

• Strong technical foundation in infrastructure networking and compute technologies.
• Proven experience as a team lead or technical project manager in IT infrastructure - Public Sector experience preferred
• Solid understanding of ITIL processes and GRC requirements.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management capabilities.
