Description
Our Financial services client is seeking a Technical Delivery Manager with experience in core banking system transformation including Temenos upgrades.
Overview:
Permanent position, 100% Remote (Candidate must be located in Ontario, Alberta or British Columbia) - PST Hours.
This position is for a Senior Technology Delivery Manager to lead and oversee the successful delivery of large-scale technology program. This role requires deep technical experience with the respective Platform / Tech Stack to effectively plan and lead large-scale technology implementations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, technology implementation, and team leadership including excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Must Have:
• 10+ years of proven experience managing large-scale technology SDLC Project Manager and/or Delivery Manager.
• Proven experience and deep understanding of at Core Banking Transformation projects/programs (e.g. Temenos upgrades)
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Nice to Have:
• Master's degree in a related field.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the technology planning, coordination, and delivery of large-scale technology programs and projects (>$50M annual spend in scope), ensuring delivery is on time, within scope, and budget.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on project objectives, requirements, architecture and solution design, and other deliverables throughout the project lifecycle while communicating with stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment
• Actively support technology discussions (ARB, Solution Design, Test Strategy, Test Plan, etc.) by asking clarifying questions and surfacing key considerations to identify risks, refine plan / schedule etc.
· Apply deep knowledge of platforms (e.g., Temenos) to support delivery teams by coaching through blockers, providing clarity on platform capabilities, and ensuring the work is scoped realistically.
· Lead the development of work breakdown structures and resourcing plans, identifying logical components of work and required skill sets to support delivery.
• Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance teams to ensure testing strategies and plans align with timelines and quality standards
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Identify and mitigate risks and issues from a technical delivery standpoint that may impact project success.
• Manage project resources, including team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Negotiate significant vendor SOWs and contracts as well as managing vendors through the delivery lifecycle.
• Support annual and quarterly planning exercises by developing technology resourcing needs.
• Ensure adherence to best practices, standards, and methodologies in project management and technology delivery while fostering a culture of continuous improvement
