System Administrator to support an enterprise infrastructure environment with a focus on Unix/Linux systems

Our valued client is seeking a System Administrator to support, automate, and maintain enterprise infrastructure environments, with a strong focus on Unix/Linux systems, infrastructure automation, cloud platforms, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities:

• Build, configure, administer, and support Unix/Linux environments (including enterprise Linux distributions).
• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure automation solutions using Ansible to ensure consistency, scalability, and reliability.
• Support containerized platforms, including Kubernetes, for deployment, orchestration, and lifecycle management of applications.
• Administer and support cloud-based infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS), integrating automation and configuration management best practices.
• Support and maintain enterprise systems on IBM Z, ensuring availability, performance, and compliance with operational standards.
• Develop and maintain technical design, build, and operational documentation for infrastructure and automation solutions.
• Monitor system health, performance, logs, and alerts; proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Apply operating system patches, upgrades, and configuration changes to minimize availability and performance risks.
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and vendors to resolve incidents, implement changes, and improve infrastructure resilience.

Must have:

• 7+ years of experience as a System Administrator in enterprise environments.
• Strong experience administering Unix/Linux systems.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible and infrastructure automation.
• Experience supporting Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure.
• Scripting experience (e.g., Shell, Python).

Secret Clearance

Hybrid - On site for the first 3 months then possibility of being remote.
