Description
Our client is actively seeking a Sr. SAS Administrator to support daily SAS 9.4 environment operations and development including writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting SAS code.
Initial 5 month contract with possibility of extension in 2026. Hybrid work model (2 days in office & 3 days remote) in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Saint-Hyacinthe.
Responsibilities:
- Work as SAS administrator of SAS 9.4 environment, helping the 2 permanent SAS admins, in the daily operations of D&A SAS and BI tools like connectors to Power BI, Snowflake environments, including data processing and assigning tasks to provide this support.
- Play a key role in identifying, communicating and mitigating risks, issues, comparing various options based on feasibility and impact
- Proposing action plans to optimize the performance of the SAS 9.4 environment by working with the actuaries to review and help optimizing their code
- Participate in the continuous improvement of processes by bringing ideas, best practices, improved processes on SAS and BI in general.
- Apply the best practices and guidelines of the organizational and departmental change management process in relation to data warehouses
Must-have skills:
- 5+ years of experience in administrating and supporting SAS Production and development
- 3-5 years of experience in SAS 9.4 development
- Experience in setting up and operationalizing SAS environments
- Strong understanding of SAS data integration flows and enterprise data sources (Oracle, Teradata, Snowflake, SAS SPDS).
- Proficient in SQL, Shell scripting (BASH/UNIX), with working knowledge of Python and VBA.
- Excellent french communication skills (for QC candidates)
Nice-to-have skills:
- Familiar with AWS (S3), Databricks, and Informatica IICS for modern data workflows.
- Experience with middleware servers (IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat).
