Sr. Project Control Officer (PCO) with JIRA/Confluence exp to maintain project financials and risk analysis for our banking client
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Duration: 9 Months
Summary
The Project Control Officer (PCO) supports project delivery across the Governance & Special Assignments team by providing financial tracking, governance support, risk analysis, and reporting insights. This role works closely with Project Managers, PMO partners, and cross-functional technology teams to ensure disciplined project execution and adherence to enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and analyze project financials including forecasts, actuals, variance analysis, and budget reconciliation.
- Maintain project schedules, milestones, and work-back plans across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Develop and publish weekly/monthly status reports, executive dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Monitor and maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues & Dependencies); escalate risks proactively.
- Support project governance compliance (change control, audits, documentation, PMO templates).
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and drive follow-up on action items.
- Consolidate project data to provide data-driven insights for leadership decision-making.
- Ensure project documentation repositories are accurate and complete (Confluence, SharePoint).
- Facilitate resource tracking, demand planning, and time reporting processes.
- Support project delivery using SDLC or Agile frameworks depending on project needs.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as a Project Control Officer, Project Analyst, or Project Coordinator.
- Strong skills in project financials (budget tracking, variance analysis, accruals, forecasting).
- Experience with task and project tracking tools: JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, or M365 Planner.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel for reporting & financial models, PowerPoint for executive reporting).
- Solid understanding of project governance and PMO frameworks.
- Strong communication skills with experience supporting cross-functional project teams.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational/time management skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Power BI dashboards or Power Apps automation.
- Exposure to large technology transformation projects or financial services environments.
- Familiarity working with Agile delivery in enterprise settings.
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks.
- Experience supporting technology infrastructure or platform engineering teams.
