Sr. Network & Cyber Security Architect to design the architecture and operational design of firewall services as they transition

Our large, enterprise Oil & Gas industry client is seeking a Sr. Network & Cyber Security Architect to design the architecture and operational design of firewall services as they transition.

This is an initial 1-year contract with a possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be based in Calgary and agreeable to working full-time onsite (5 days/week).

Must-Haves:

• 8+ years in network/security architecture with 5+ years in firewall operations across enterprise environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Cisco Firepower and Palo Alto platforms; proficiency with Cisco FMC and Panorama.
• Operational experience designing/maintaining monitoring and event pipelines.
• Proven integration of firewall telemetry into SIEM platforms and collaboration with SOC/MDR partners.
• Strong familiarity with ServiceNow incident/assignment group models and CMDB hygiene.
• Solid background in network security fundamentals (L3/L4, NAT, VPN, IDS/IPS), packet-level troubleshooting, and change governance.
• Scripting/automation (e.g., Python) for telemetry transformation, policy automation, or QA.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience guiding transitions of firewall services (RACI, knowledge transfer, pilot/parallel ops).
• Knowledge of OT/IT segmentation patterns and cloud-edge integration patterns.
• Exposure to legacy environments and tech-debt retirement planning.
