Our valued public sector client is looking for Sr. Help Desk Specialist to provide on-site support (Victoria BC, Saskatoon, & St. John's) of applications, desktops, and IT hardware for a Windows upgrade project.


  • This opportunity is open to consultants in Ottawa willing to travel to the above mentioned locations - travel will be expensed


This Windows 7-10 upgrade project requires on-site work, and opportunities exist in Victoria BC, Saskatoon, & St. John's. Once the project is complete, the opportunity exists for successful candidates to continue working on future projects.


Tasks include:


  • Work directly with end-users to receive devices and determine what level of support is required for upgrades from Windows 7 to Windows 10
  • In some cases, perform the required Windows 10 upgrades on existing devices
  • In some cases, perform data backups and set up users with new machines
  • Perform a variety of network problem analysis and monitoring tasks, such as
  • Monitoring network management systems
  • Responding appropriately to user requests and problems
  • Develop, implement, and participate in the distribution of related information to users, such as
  • Help desk procedures
  • Handbooks and training material


Must have:


  • Prior experience using an incident resolution system to track and resolve problems (8+ years)
  • Reliability Clearance


Nice to have:


  • Experience with any of the following technologies:
  • Active Directory Services (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Win and Domain Name System (DNS));
  • Virtual Private Network (VPN);
  • VMWare;
  • Windows 10
  • Assyst Enterprise IT Service Management Systems
  • MS Office 13 Suite with Outlook 2013
  • Virtual Private Network (VPN)
  • LAN and WAN environment
