Sr. Guidewire PC Developer - 2766

Duration: Until end of Dec 2025 (possibility of extension)

Location: Hybrid (Markham - 3 days a week)

We are looking for a positive and collaborative Technical Lead - Guidewire PC/BC/CM. As part of our Software Engineering Group, you will be working with globally distributed teams, including business representatives, business analysts, architects, and engineers to plan, design, develop, test, and implement solutions. We embrace a culture challenging the status quo and constantly looking to simplify processes, technology, and workflow. This position reports to the AVP - Software Engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Review software requirements efficiently

• Build architectural diagrams / design documents

• Design screens, business rules, and workflow changes

• Write programs, configure / package / deploy software

• Establish and follow coding standards

• Debug and unit test the code

• Perform peer code reviews

• Mentor junior resources

Skills:

• Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related fields, or equivalent experience.

• 10+ years proven experience in Guidewire Application Development

• Must work on Guidewire PC Configuration

• Nice to have Guidewire BC Configuration Knowledge

• Expertise in GOSU Language, configuration and coding using Guidewire tools and accelerators, Guidewire Batch, and Guidewire predefined plugins

• Read code in other languages and reverse engineer products

• Agile software development, including the use of Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, etc.

• Domain knowledge on Property & Casualty Insurance

• Guidewire Cloud Certification is a must.

• 7+ years of Guidewire development experience.

• 7+ years of experience coding RESTful APIs.

Nice to have

• Experience with coding in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python,

• Experience with relational databases and SQL - MS SQL Server

• Expertise in the end-to-end design and development of business database applications.

• Experience creating modern web applications and designing Web APIs with REST/JSON.

• In-depth understanding of design thinking and customer-centric development.

Nice to have

• Guidewire Ace Certification (preferably Integration).

• Guidewire Billing Center Configuration Knowledge.

• Experience writing automated GUnit tests for integrations using Guidewire data builders.

• 7+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL - MS SQL Server & Transact SQL proficiency preferred.
