Sr. AI/ML Engineer with GenAI, LLM, and backend engineering to develop solutions to automate business operations

Our client is Canada's largest retailer. They are looking for a Sr. AI/ML Engineer with GenAI, LLM, and backend engineering to develop solutions to automate business operations.

You will play a critical role in building end-to-end systems that leverage LLMs, optimize traditional ML workflows, and enhance backend data infrastructure. This role requires hands-on development of production-grade solutions.

Location: Fully Remote

Duration: Until End of Dec 2025, to start

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deploy AI powered applications. Build and optimize AI systems using LLMs and multi-agent frameworks.
• Design and implement backend services and APIs using FastAPI, LangChain, and Python.
• Integrate systems with GCP, leveraging tools like Vertex AI and Airflow.
• Drive automation of manual business processes, including supply chain tasks and data updates.
• Work closely with product and operations teams to turn business requirements into scalable, intelligent systems.

Must Have Skills:

• Hands-on experience with Generative AI (LLMs) using OpenAI APIs, Vertex AI, or similar.
• Strong Python (FastAPI) backend engineering.
• Proficiency with LangChain or multi-agent AI systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure), using Airflow for orchestration.
• Comfortable writing and optimizing SQL queries for data-driven applications.
