Our valued public sector client is hiring a Senior IM Consultant to provide advice and support related to an intranet site built on Drupal.

This agency is looking for a consultant to analyze their current information layout and high-level design for their intranet site.

Tasks:

• Conduct Current State Assessment
• Review and analyze the existing intranet site’s information architecture, content types, and navigation.
• Identify gaps, redundancies, and usability issues related to content organization.
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Facilitate workshops and interviews with key stakeholders to gather requirements, use cases, and pain points.
• Collaborate with internal teams (communications, IT, records management, etc.) to understand business needs and user expectations.
• Evaluate and Optimize Information Architecture
• Develop a comprehensive information architecture (IA) plan, including taxonomy, metadata standards, and classification schemes.
• Provide recommendations for restructuring content and navigation based on usability best practices.
• High-Level Intranet Design Consultation
• Advise on high-level layout and design improvements that enhance user experience (UX) and accessibility.
• Ensure alignment with GCWeb and Government of Canada digital standards.
• Develop IM Recommendations Report
• Produce a detailed report summarizing findings, recommended improvements, and a roadmap for implementation.
• Include prioritization of tasks, estimated timelines, and dependencies.
• Ensure Compliance and Best Practices
• Ensure all proposed changes meet federal records management and privacy standards.
• Incorporate WCAG accessibility guidelines and usability best practices into recommendations.
• Knowledge Transfer
• Provide coaching, documentation, and knowledge transfer to internal staff to sustain improvements after the engagement ends.
• Materials for senior management, summarizing findings and strategic direction.

Must Haves:

• Experience advising clients on IM best practices and layout
• Experience with Drupal
• Experience engaging with multiple stakeholder and consolidating findings
