Our financial services client is seeking a Senior Valuations Financial Analyst to support year-end and mid-year valuation processes for illiquid investments across infrastructure, private equity, and private debt. This Analyst will be working closely with the asset class teams and Investment Accounting, this role ensures all illiquid investments are reported at fair value in compliance with IFRS 13.

6 month contract to start, possible extensions. Work can be done remotely, 7 hours per day. There may be busier periods which will require more hours per day (up to 10). Must work in the PST time zone.

Must have:

• A professional designation: CPA (preferred), CBV or CFA
• Solid understanding and working knowledge of valuation methodologies and techniques for private market investments
• Ability to navigate through complex ownership structures, large sets of financial data, including financial statements, performance updates, legal documents, etc. and ability to synthesize the information for valuation purposes and reporting
• Strong understanding of IFRS fair value accounting
• Experience with Capital IQ

Primary Responsibilities

• Review valuations prepared by investment teams and external valuators, verifying or challenging key valuation assumptions
• Develop valuation models for select investments
• Review fund financial statements for LP investments and assist in coordinating the valuation review work performed by other Finance staff members
• Resolve valuation issues and prepare memorandums to support Finance’s recommendation of fair value
• Identify key valuation drivers and prepare insightful summary reporting and presentations for senior management
