Our valued public sector client is hiring a Senior Software Asset Management consultant to lead and support Microsoft Software Licence baseline assessments.

Background:

The department has many segregated networks that are running Microsoft products. The Microsoft license footprint can only be reduced in the first option year of the contract. The department must provide an analysis of the licenses requirements by end of year. MS licenses were assigned and disturbed to Software License managers (SLM’s) as a more granular level control of the licenses.

Tasks:

• Plan, coordinate, track and manage the review/audit to successful completion.
• Review the current state of the Microsoft footprint licenses, including new and on-premise requirements.
• Through consultations with key stakeholders, review documentation of required data, gather required information to perform the analysis.
• Continually fine tune data collection requirements for the analysis of Microsoft software deployment data for accuracy and to identify gaps.
• Validate data captured from stakeholders to establish current state baseline of both the client and server usage of Microsoft licenses
• Based on assessment results, develop concrete, actionable go-forward recommendations.
• Prepare a report describing current state gaps, implications, and recommendations for Microsoft licensing at DND, with a focus on:
• License cost implications
• Asset Management
• Process refinement
• Assist in establishing an evaluation process to qualify license quantities and software deployed.
• Support in the review of Microsoft software entitlements at all product levels.
