Senior SharePoint Migration Specialist to support with technical migration activities and postmigration validation and remediation


**Hybrid in Calgary**


Must haves:

  • 7+ years of experience in a similar role, with strong hands-on experience with ShareGate for planning and executing SharePoint migrations
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end SharePoint migration projects, including planning, execution, and validation
  • Solid expertise in SharePoint Online and SharePoint environments
  • Demonstrated experience migrating from: SharePoint On-Premises to SharePoint Online, SharePoint Online to SharePoint Online (tenant-to-tenant or site-level), File shares / DFS to SharePoint Online
  • Hands-on experience executing full, incremental, delta, and remigration scenarios
  • Ability to migrate document libraries, lists, folders, files, and version history with high accuracy
  • Strong experience configuring migration options (e.g., Copy if newer, Merge, Overwrite, Preserve permissions)
  • Proven ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve migration errors, warnings, and performance issues
  • Experience conducting pre-migration assessments and post-migration validation
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint architecture, including: Site collections, sites, libraries, and lists, Content types and site columns, Term Store and managed metadata
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing metadata strategies, including manual metadata mapping using CSV/Excel files
  • Deep understanding of SharePoint permissions, inheritance models, and security best practices
  • Experience performing user and permission mapping and restructuring access where required
  • Ability to identify and remediate migration risks (e.g., large files, long URLs, unsupported characters)
  • Experience generating migration reports, status summaries, and documentation
  • Strong validation and testing experience, including: Verifying content accuracy, metadata, permissions, and structure, Supporting user acceptance testing (UAT), Troubleshooting and resolving post-migration issues
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Admin Center and SharePoint Admin Center
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 workloads such as Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft 365 Groups
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex migration challenges
