Senior SharePoint & Microsoft Purview Engineer to enhance environments by optimizing security, permissions, and automation processes

Contract: 6 Months + Extension

1. Script Optimization & Server Patching. A third-party completed a project, but the scripts they implemented are inefficient. The team needs someone to optimize these scripts and patch the server.
2. Per missioning & Governance Optimization - As AI tools gain traction, there's a growing need to ensure SharePoint permissions follow best practices. This includes reviewing and improving per missioning processes.

To enhance SharePoint Online and Microsoft Purview environments by optimizing security, permissions, and automation processes, ensuring scalable and compliant data governance.

• Design, configure, and optimize security, access, retention, and compliance controls in SharePoint Online and Microsoft Purview (especially event-based labels).
• Manage data governance and disposition policies across SPO.
• Improve and optimize PowerShell scripts and Graph API usage for performance and scalability.
• Develop automation and reporting tools for monitoring access, permissions, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to permissions, sharing, and secure collaboration.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and IT operations teams to enforce consistent policies across M365.
• Implement attestation processes for periodic permission reviews by site owners.
• Handle throttling issues using header response management.

• Microsoft Purview: 2-3 years, with hands-on experience in event-based labels.
• SharePoint: 7-8 years, including legacy SharePoint and post-migration challenges.
• PowerShell: Strong scripting skills with a focus on optimization.
• Technical Confidence: Able to challenge existing approaches and propose better solutions.
• Attestation Experience: Familiarity with permission review processes in SharePoint.
• Migration Experience: Legacy SharePoint to cloud, merging content, indexing large sites.

• Experience in large enterprise environments with complex per missioning challenges.
• Advanced use of Graph API for automation and reporting.
