Senior Server Migration Specialist (10+ years) to lead enterprise-scale infrastructure migration across hybrid datacentre environments using VMware and HPE

Location: Hamilton, ON

Duration: 3 month contract with possibility of extension.

Hybrid Work Model:

Alternate weekly between:

• 2 days in office (Tue & Wed)
• 3 days in office (Tue, Wed & Thu)

35 hours/week

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed technical discovery and workload assessment across VMware environments
• Develop migration runbooks, validation criteria, and wave plans
• Execute full end‑to‑end migrations from VMware ESXi/vCenter to HPE VME platforms
• Configure and validate compute, storage, and network components post‑migration
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, patching, and audit requirements
• Implement automation to streamline migration assessments and validations
• Document configurations, lessons learned, and provide knowledge transfer to operational teams

Must Haves

• 10+ years in server infrastructure, datacentre operations, and virtualization environments
• Hands‑on VMware ESXi/vCenter migration to HPE Virtual Machine Environment (VME)
• Experience with Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu), and Fibre Channel (FC) storage systems
• Proficiency in PowerShell and Bash scripting for migration automation and validation tasks
• Post‑secondary education in computer science, information technology, or related field

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Cohesity backup and recovery platform
• Familiarity with Active Directory integration and configuration management
• Experience participating in ITIL change management or CAB reviews
• Knowledge of Ansible or Terraform automation frameworks
