Senior Secret cleared Oracle DBA to assist with the migration of Oracle workloads to an on premise PostgreSQL platform infrastructure in the public sector.

Our public sector client requires a Senior Secret cleared Oracle DBA to assist with the migration of some Oracle workloads to an on premise Open Source PostgreSQL platform infrastructure. Our client has a requirement to migrate 221 Oracle databases currently on premise AIX Oracle 19c environment to a PostgreSQL on premise environment in SSC EDC data centre.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procedures that will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data stored in the database;
• Ensure the integration of database administration and/or database conversion tools;
• Monitor the current database solution to ensure it fits with organization and IT best practices;
• Automate and document database operational procedures in the new database environments;
• Implement and recommend processes and problem-solving during the database implementation;
• Perform diagnostic tests and resolving issues to optimize the database performance;
• Define and recommend optimizations to the database environments and tuning-up database performance;
• Perform database server migrations;
• Database adminstration activities including any of: database backups; password management; and database optimization;
• Configure critical patching for multi-tenant database environments.

Must have:

• Secret clearance
• Oracle migration experience
• PostgreSQL experience

Nice to have:

• Experience working in a .NET environment
