S.i. Systems client is looking for a Senior Scrum Master on a large-scale digital transformation program


Initial contract until end of Dec 2026, strong chances to be extended. Onsite every other Wednesday as well as 1 full week/quarter. Other days may be required as needs come up.


Must Haves:

  • Experience working as an Scrum Master with teams made up of Business Analysts, Product Owners, Service Designers etc., as well as technical roles
  1. Comfortable with cross disciplinary team environment with iterative delivery of a number of different products and services - the team includes a diverse range of roles and expertise, including business subject matter experts, business analysts, service designers, policy analysts, plus highly technical staff. The scrum master should be comfortable and able to demonstrate facilitating across mixed disciplines and types of work vs teams with technical focus only (Developers, QA, data/reporting etc).
  • Proven experience leading Agile teams end-to-end, with full accountability for delivery health, not just ceremony facilitation
  • Must have a practical, adaptable approach that can tailor agile practices to the team and context vs. someone who applies frameworks rigidly or focuses primarily on agile evangelism


Key Responsibilities:

  • Scrum Ceremonies: Independently facilitate all core Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives), ensuring clear structure, strong engagement, and measurable outcomes.
  • Program Increment (PI) Planning: Prepare teams for and effectively support quarterly PI planning by driving backlog readiness, identifying and managing dependencies, aligning capacity, and helping define clear, achievable objectives.
  • Backlog Management: Partner closely with Product Managers/Owners to maintain a well-prioritized, refined backlog aligned to PI and sprint goals, enabling efficient flow of work.
  • Delivery & Progress Tracking: Promote predictable, transparent delivery through realistic sprint commitments, clearly defined goals, and visible tracking of progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Impediment Removal: Proactively identify and remove blockers, navigating organizational complexity, cross-team dependencies, and stakeholder challenges with minimal oversight.
  • Agile Coaching: Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile principles and scaled practices, tailoring approaches for service, process, policy, and technical work.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strengthen collaboration across technical, business, and stakeholder groups to deliver integrated, end-to-end service outcomes.
  • Program Alignment: Manage cross-team dependencies during PIs, escalate risks early, and reinforce alignment and accountability at the program level.
  • Metrics & Continuous Improvement: Leverage meaningful delivery metrics (e.g., flow, predictability, outcomes, service impact) to drive data-informed decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Team Culture & Performance: Foster psychological safety, accountability, and high performance, contributing to increased team effectiveness and overall service delivery maturity.
