Our non-profit client is seeking a Senior Test Lead to select testing tools & frameworks to build a mature QA practice in the non-profit sector


Establish and implement a scalable testing strategy, toolset, and quality assurance framework supporting enterprise and custom software initiatives.


Initial 6-month contract with possibility of extension or conversion to permanent full-time. Hybrid on-site in Ottawa, ON


Responsibilities

  • Define and implement a practical, scalable testing strategy across multiple delivery streams
  • Introduce standards for test planning, execution, defect management, and reporting
  • Select and implement test management and automation tools (frameworks, CI/CD integration, etc.)
  • Create documentation, templates, and repeatable processes where none currently exist
  • Act as the central point of accountability for QA
  • Advise leadership on quality risks, trade-offs, and maturity roadmap
  • Drive testing across diverse initiatives - examples include:
  • D365 implementation project
  • C#.NET web application development and enhancements
  • Mobile application development (Swift / Kotlin)
  • Azure Data Lakehouse / data platform initiatives


Must Haves

  • Extensive experience as a Senior Tester or Test Lead, with ownership over end-to-end testing
  • Proven track record of building or significantly maturing a QA/testing function from scratch
  • Extensive experience establishing a new test strategy or test plan
  • Experience selecting and implementing testing tools, frameworks, and processes
  • Hands-on experience with both:
  • Manual testing (UAT, system, integration)
  • Test automation (frameworks, tool selection, implementation)
  • Strong ability to operate in ambiguous, low-structure environments without heavy oversight


Nice to Have

  • Experience in unionized or government environments
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365, Azure-based data platforms, and mobile app testing (iOS/Android)
  • Familiarity with Canadian compliance or accessibility standards
