Senior Project Manager to Lead a Regulatory, Risk (IFRS 9) and credit project with one of our major banking clients - 38620


Location Toronto/ Hybrid: 3 days in-office (will increase to 4 days in future)

Anchor days: Tuesday and Thursday

Contract Duration: ASAP to 05/29/2026 (High Possibility of extension)


Story Behind the Need

Business group: Risk Transformation Management Office (TMO) Project Management Office

Project: Lead regulatory, risk, (IFRS 9) and Credit Adjudication project.


Typical Day in Role:

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Build understanding of Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture to make effective decisions.
  • Lead end to end delivery planning of assigned project(s) like ideation / interpretation of business needs, business case approval, establish project governance, implementation plan and transition to BAU including budgeting & resourcing.
  • Influence the decision-making process to ensure alignment to business priorities, strategic technology architecture and resource allocation for assigned project(s).
  • Works independently and exercises judgement based on precedents, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
  • Impacts program design, risk and delivery across business areas or subfunctions supported.
  • Manage governance forums as required with primarily business stakeholders, technology partners and other support functions.
  • Responsible for interactions with all key stakeholders from business, risk, operations & technology teams including stakeholders in different geographic locations.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Represents bank effectively when involved with external 3rd parties, either regulators, vendors or at industry meetings
  • Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment


Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

1) 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager or related financial industry or regulatory experience

2) 5+ years of experience in regulatory projects (example: IFRS9) as a project management

3) 5+ years - Experience of working within change management programs

4) Experience of managing senior stakeholders / running meetings/ preparing presentations is crucial for this role

5) Ability to use Microsoft Office - Advanced excel and PowerPoint. Power BI is an asset


Nice-To-Have Skills:

1) Previous experience with IFRS9 and Credit Adjudication in recent projects is highly preferred

2) Previous have experience in regulatory and risk management project management

3) Recent exp with top 5 banks is nice to have


Best vs. Average Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a strong Project manager with recent experience with regulatory (IFRS 9) and Credit Adjudication. Excellent communication skills with proven experience with managing senior stakeholders / running meetings/ preparing presentations is crucial.


Degrees or certifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree level or above education, ideally in business, financial or technology

• PMP certified is nice to have


Candidate Review & Selection

2 Rounds of interviews

1st- Video Interview (30 mins) with HM and a senior Team member: Questions based on previous experience

2nd round in-person with HM and director (30 mins): Interview to gauge the team fit.
