Our valued public sector client is hiring a Senior Project Manager to coordinate and facilitate the delivery of the VoIP Workplace Communications Services project.


Background:


The WCS project has reached 75,000 lines migrated and in now transitioning to a hybrid model for the remainder of the legacy telephony lines, where focus will shift from only fixed line to include softphone and other telephony solutions to meet client requirements. As a result, the organization is in immediate need of one Project Manager to focus on the delivery of the hybrid telephony solution within the national capital region


Tasks:


  • Manage the project during the development, implementation and operations startup and guide other functional staff to define business strategy and processes in support of transformation and change management activities.
  • Oversee work associated with sub-projects, such as special circuits and assemblies within the project, identify ways to optimize schedules and costs that could contribute to achieving the goals of the entire project, including the introduction of new technology, and updating/overseeing the solution delivery plans and schedules.
  • Conduct various financial estimations and projections on migration costs related to infrastructure remediation and equipment upgrades, with a focus on main telecom rooms, subsequent communication closets, and cable plant requirements.
  • Prepare documentation such as Monthly Project Dashboard, briefing notes, project status briefings in response to scheduled and unscheduled reporting (either at the request of the TA or as a result of newly identified risks and opportunities) to provide updates on the progress of the project.
  • Identify risks and issues through email and/or verbal briefs and formulate statements of problems; use established change management procedures for the development and implementation of significant, new or modified project elements to solve these problems, and obtain approval thereof through the use of change request process and documentation.
