Our public sector client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to assist with application modernization projects focused on Emergency Management and Community Safety


Candidates will be working a hybrid work model (in-office and remote) in NE Calgary. 37.5 hour work week. An Enhanced Security Clearance will be required upon offer


Must haves:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager on enterprise projects with recognized good practices identified in PMI PMBOK Guide.
  • 5+ years of experience on medium to large technology projects leading and supporting multidisciplinary project teams
  • 5 years' experience with project resource planning, including participation in project team resourcing.
  • Experience with projects focused on Emergency Management and Community Safety


Nice to haves:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and manage complex relationships
  • Strong leadership, planning, change management and analytic skills.
  • PMI Certification


Responsibilities:

  • Define and formally document the project scope, goals, and objectives that support business goals, in collaboration with subject matter experts, technical leads, management and stakeholders. This often includes working alongside a Business Analyst.
  • Communicate project expectations to team members and key partners in a timely and clear fashion
  • Identify required resources and negotiate with other section supervisors for the acquisition of required personnel.
  • Collaborate with external resources, such as vendors, in accordance with our client's practices to manage project deliverables and milestones.
  • Work closely with key partners, Business Analyst(s), Sponsor, and other project team members to identify and understand business requirements and how they translate into functional requirements.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using corporate tools and guidelines. This includes not just IT deliverables, but a keen focus and consideration for Operational implications (change management, training, policy changes, etc.) to ensure optimal operational delivery.
  • Manage project progress and financials in accordance with our client's Project Management and Finance methodologies (e. g. time tracking, financial reporting, change orders, accruals).
