Senior Project Manager - QA Transformation / Business Transformation - Insurance client - 6225

Duration: 8 Months (initial)

Location: Toronto (Hybrid, 3x/week)

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a large-scale QA transformation program focused on people, process, workforce, and operating model change. This is not a technical application delivery PM role. The ideal candidate is a strong business transformation Project Manager with deep familiarity with QA functions, QA operating models, quality practices, testing organizations, and workforce transformation.

This resource will oversee multiple program workstreams tied to the evolution of the QA organization, including current-state to future-state planning, process redesign, stakeholder communications, workforce impacts, change management, financial tracking, and coordination across internal teams. The successful candidate will have experience leading complex transformation initiatives involving onshore/offshore delivery models, cross-functional stakeholders, HR, Change Management, senior leadership, and operational teams.

The role requires a highly organized and credible PM who can bring structure to ambiguity, manage multiple moving pieces, influence senior stakeholders, and ensure transformation workstreams progress toward clearly defined business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end project management of a complex QA transformation program with multiple business and operational workstreams.
  • Manage transformation activities related to people, process, workforce model, QA operating model, governance, stakeholder communications, and organizational change.
  • Partner with QA leadership, business stakeholders, HR, Change Management, Finance, Technology, vendors, and offshore/onshore teams to coordinate plans, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.
  • Support current-state and future-state planning, ensuring transformation activities are aligned to the desired QA operating model and broader organizational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, workstream trackers, stakeholder maps, RAID logs, financial summaries, governance materials, executive updates, and steering committee presentations.
  • Drive progress across multiple workstreams, ensuring deliverables, decisions, dependencies, and risks are actively tracked and managed.
  • Facilitate cross-functional working sessions, stakeholder meetings, leadership updates, and governance forums.
  • Manage project governance, including documentation, communication plans, meeting cadence, action logs, resource coordination, financial tracking, and status reporting.
  • Work with HR and Change Management teams on workforce-related impacts, communications, change readiness, stakeholder engagement, and adoption planning.
  • Coordinate with Finance to support budget tracking, forecasting, cost plans, and resource usage reporting.
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and escalation points.
  • Adjust plans, communications, and stakeholder engagement approaches to drive alignment and achieve desired transformation outcomes.
  • Support process redesign and operating model changes within the QA function, ensuring impacts are understood, communicated, and implemented effectively.
  • Build productive relationships across senior stakeholders, business partners, QA teams, HR, Change Management, Finance, vendors, and delivery teams.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and capture lessons learned.
  • Champion continuous improvement and contribute to project management best practices.

Must Haves:

  • 5-10+ years of project management experience leading large, complex, multi-workstream business transformation initiatives.
  • Strong experience managing people, process, workforce, operating model, or organizational transformation projects.
  • Demonstrated experience working within or closely alongside QA / Quality Assurance / Testing organizations.
  • Strong understanding of QA functions, testing teams, quality processes, QA delivery models, and the operational realities of QA organizations.
  • Experience with onshore/offshore delivery models, including coordination across distributed teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage transformation workstreams involving HR, Change Management, communications, finance, operations, and senior leadership.
  • Strong current-state / future-state planning experience, with the ability to translate transformation objectives into structured project plans and executable workstreams
  • Strong executive stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence decisions, manage trade-offs, and communicate clearly with senior leaders.
  • Experience managing project governance, RAID logs, financials, resource plans, executive reporting, steering committee materials, and stakeholder communications.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience leading QA transformation, testing modernization, quality engineering transformation, or QA operating model redesign.
  • Experience supporting workforce transformation, role/responsibility mapping, vendor model changes, or onshore/offshore optimization.
  • Experience working with HR, Organizational Change Management, Communications, or Finance stakeholders.
  • Agile, SAFe, PMI-ACP, CSM, or other delivery-related certifications.
  • Experience with MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Smartsheet, PowerPoint, Excel, or equivalent PMO/reporting tools.
  • Bilingualism in English/French is an asset.
