Our public sector client is seeking a Senior Office 365 Solutions Architect (10+ years) to lead SharePoint rollout and OpenText Content Server to SharePoint migration

Join a high-impact public sector modernization initiative migrating enterprise content management from legacy Content Server to modern SharePoint environments. This role leads planning, strategy, and execution of the migration while ensuring data integrity, metadata preservation, and auditing compliance. The position offers deep technical ownership in a large-scale municipal technology rollout managing governance, permissions, and operational continuity for multiple business units.

Contract, Toronto, Hybrid

Must Haves

• 5-10 years in SharePoint administration, SharePoint Online, and SharePoint migration including site configuration, user permissions, and workflow development
• 5-10 years in OpenText Content Server administration and operational support with expertise in metadata mapping, folder structures, and data extraction
• Proven experience leading Content Server to SharePoint migrations without third-party tools, ensuring preservation of metadata, versioning, and user permissions
• Extensive pre-migration planning expertise covering content cleanup, reorganization, and mapping of metadata and categories from Content Server to SharePoint
• University degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Experience preserving URL links and redirection services for legacy Content Server paths
• Knowledge of immutable backup design for audit compliance
• Hands-on troubleshooting of migration bottlenecks such as unsupported plug-ins, scripts, or long folder paths

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead SharePoint rollout across business units and divisions
• Develop and execute Content Server to SharePoint migration strategy including pilot, mapping, and validation
• Design content mapping models ensuring metadata, user permissions, and data governance preservation
• Identify and resolve migration issues, providing detailed workaround documentation
• Prepare and maintain immutable Content Server backups with versioning for audit compliance
• Provide ongoing technical and operational support for both Content Server and SharePoint platforms
• Coordinate transition to operational support teams post-migration ensuring continuity and compliance
