Senior Network Engineer to design, manage and troubleshoot the infrastructure and security environment (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto)

Our Calgary client is hiring a full time Senior Network Engineer to design, manage and troubleshoot the network and security environment (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto)

This is a full-time salaried position, successful candidate must be in the NE Calgary location 4 days per week. (Vacation + PTO Days, Annual Bonuses, Health Benefits and RRSP matching available)

Must Have:

• 10+ years experience as a Network Infrastructure Specialist/Engineer
• Experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto and Cisco infrastructure
• Experience delivering projects with office-based, data center and site based infrastructure
• Experience Fortigate SD-WAN technology
• Experience managing solutions both on-premise and in the cloud (Azure)

Nice to Have:

• CCIE or NSE7 Network Certifications
• ITIL v4 Foundation and Security Certifications

Responsibilities:

• Complete architecture, implementation, management and troubleshooting of the network infrastructure on-premises, sites, and in the cloud
• Design redundant environments ensuring high availability and security
• Conduct regular maintenance, updates, and health checks of all network components
• Provide on-call support on a rotational basis, resolving network issues efficiently
• Lead and deliver multiple parallel IT network initiatives in a disciplined manner on time, on budget, and within scope and quality specifications
• Configure and optimize SD-WAN, firewalls, routers, switches, VLANs, industrial DMZs, and VPNs for secure communication
• Troubleshoot and fix issues related to Firewalls, Load balancer, IPS/IDS & Proxy, along with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN issues
• Work with Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, or equivalent networking and security devices
• Configure changes, upgrade, whitelist or blacklist URLs and Firewall rules etc.
• Implement permitter security such as Network Access Control, Firewall, DNS, Content Filtering, VPN, and Remote Access
• Document proper capacity plans to ensure appropriate bandwidth, latency, and availability
