Mobile QE (iOS/Android Automation | WebdriverIO | API Testing)


Our banking client is seeking a Mobile QE to support a major client onboarding initiative within a fast-paced Agile environment. This is a hands-on contract role focused on mobile automation testing across Android and iOS applications, supporting critical customer-facing onboarding workflows.

The team is looking for someone technically strong, proactive, and continuously focused on improving automation coverage, testing efficiency, and overall quality engineering practices.


This is a 6-month contract opportunity with an anticipated mid-June start.

Location: Toronto (Hybrid 2-4 days in office)


Responsibilities
  • Design, maintain, and execute automated and manual test scripts across mobile applications and APIs
  • Support Android and iOS automation testing using WebdriverIO, Appium, Selenium, and related tools
  • Perform both UI and API testing within Agile delivery teams
  • Collaborates with delivery teams on various testing requirements, including functional/non-functional, integration, API, regression, accessibility, user acceptance, and production acceptance testing
  • Supports all testing activities maintains and executes both manual and automated test scripts across multiple applications and devices, logs and tracks defects to completion, and provides testing updates and sign-offs
  • Participate in functional, integration, regression, API, accessibility, UAT, and production acceptance testing
  • Contribute to improving automation frameworks, testing strategy, and QE best practices


Required Qualifications
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, with a strong grasp of project management, SDLC, and TDLC principles (5+ years of experience ideally)
  • Skilled in test planning and management using tools like JIRA, X-Ray, Micro Focus, or similar platforms
  • Proficient in API REST/SOAP testing and automation with tools such as REST Assured, Postman, and Karate
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools including Selenium, Appium, WebdriverIO, or equivalents, with an understanding of coding structure and best practices
  • Working knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Python, and other scripting languages
  • Expertise in test case design and execution, defect management, and maximizing automation (API/UI) in compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Strong hands-on coding and problem-solving abilities


Nice to Have
  • Experience with Karate Framework
  • Previous banking or enterprise environment experience
  • Experience supporting digital onboarding applications


Work Environment
  • 6-month contract
  • Hybrid model:
  • 2 days onsite currently
  • Increasing to 4+ days onsite beginning in October
  • Primarily onsite at the Steeles office, with occasional downtown visits
