Senior Markit EDM Developer / Technical Lead to migrate and modernize the enterprise data platform using Azure Cloud

Our valued client is seeking a Senior Markit EDM Developer / Technical Lead to migrate and modernize the enterprise data platform using Azure Cloud

Initial 1.5 year contract, with strong possibility of extension. 100% remote. 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday in EST Timezone.

As the successful candidate, you will play a key role in the migration of the Markit EDM platform to Azure Cloud, while simultaneously helping modernize and optimize an environment with significant technical debt. This role will require both hands-on development and technical leadership, providing a fresh perspective on system design, performance, and integration patterns.

You will work closely with architecture, integration, and business teams to retool existing integrations, improve system performance, and implement best practices based on internal findings and vendor recommendations (S&P).

Responsibilities:

• Act as a senior technical contributor within the scrum teams, providing hands-on development support and technical input under the guidance of internal leads
• Support Azure cloud migration activities, including application and integration migration, environment design, and post-migration stabilization
• Support the modernization and migration of MuleSoft integration flows to Spring Boot-based services, including solution design, implementation, and deployment
• Provide senior-level technical support for Markit EDM (COTS) upgrades and other supporting components, including technical impact analysis, remediation activities, coordination with vendors, and support for testing and release activities
• Contribute to the enablement of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline implementation, branching strategies, and deployment automation, in collaboration with internal leads
• Provide input and support to ensure appropriate testing strategies are in place (unit, integration, system)
• Support production environments through troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis
• Contribute to and maintain technical documentation, technical design artifacts, and operational runbooks

Must Haves:

• 7+ years of recent demonstrated hands-on software development experience in enterprise systems, with experience working in senior technical or advanced support roles
• 5+ years of recent demonstrated experience supporting Markit EDM (COTS) solutions, including upgrades and complex data/integration scenarios
• Demonstrated hands-on experience contributing to DevOps practices, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with technical leads, product owners, and architects in Agile/Scrum environments
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot, including microservices architecture
• Proven experience modernizing or migrating enterprise integration platforms (e.g. MuleSoft to custom services)
• Demonstrated extensive experience with IBM MQ, Red Hat AMQ or other enterprise messaging platforms
• Demonstrated strong SQL/database skills, including performance optimization
• Demonstrated experience supporting Azure cloud migrations for enterprise applications and integrations

Nice to Haves:

• Demonstratable knowledge of financial markets, securities, and reference data domains
• Demonstrated experience with .NET and IIS platforms in mixed-technology environments
• Demonstrated experience with enterprise job scheduling tools
• Demonstrated ability to organise work effectively and support complex initiatives
