Senior IT Project Manager to lead and support HR-Related systems projects (Workday/ADP) with one of our insurance projects- 14867


Location Address: Hybrid - 3 days at Toronto location (any 3 days of the week)

Contract Duration: 05/26/2025 to 05/26/2026 - 1 year (Chance of Extension)

Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week (depending on projects might have ADHOC in Asia - may have meetings late occasionally but not often)


Story Behind the Need

  • Business group: Detail LOB & team's purpose: The Group Functions Technology Team plays a crucial role in supporting various corporate functions, including Human Resources (HR), Finance, and Risk Management. Our primary focus is to provide robust technological support to HR business partners, ensuring seamless operations and strategic alignment with organizational goals.


Project Details:

  • HR Support: Collaborate with HR business partners to implement and manage HR technologies, with a particular emphasis on Workday.
  • Project Management: Lead and support HR-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Provide technological solutions and support to Finance and Risk Management teams, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire project lifecycle from definition/scope through implementation.
  • Develop project plans and drive milestones.
  • Employ project management methodologies and tools like MS Project
  • Identify, coordinate, and manage resources and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective change management throughout the project.
  • Manage communication plans, training, and documentation.
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and within scope.
  • Communicate project status to all stakeholders regularly.


Domain Knowledge:

  • HR systems (Workday/ADP).
  • SaaS tools.
  • Development lifecycle delivery.
  • Waterfall and Agile experience


Must have Skills:

  • 5+ years of prior experience in project management is required. Project Manager will be responsible for leading the effort to complete the technical deliverables through the full project delivery cycle for an HR system/application for our HR business partners.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Project, Excel, MS Word and Visio.
  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • PMP and CSM designations.
  • Experience delivering SaaS tools.
  • Prior experience working on HR projects
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams; experience with API integrations; experience as an IT PM managing all technical deliverables is a must
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office Tools and Agile tools, ex. JIRA


Nice to have Skills:

  • Experience in the delivery of HR systems (Workday/ADP) would be ideal.
  • Running HR projects from a technical perspective


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Certifications: PMP and CSM designations.


Best vs. Average: An ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background, but we are not solely looking for a technical expert. We need someone who has a high-level understanding of technology and expertise, combined with exceptional project management skills. This individual must be capable of bringing people together and effectively managing complex HR stakeholders.
