Description
Senior IT Delivery Manager to to lead a Software Currency Project (Sales Hub to Talend Platform) with one of our major banking clients- 38614
Location Address: Hybrid - Scarborough - 3 times/week (Monday, Wednesday is mandatory and 3rd is flexible)
Subject to change: 3-4 days onsite may be required based on business needs
Contract Duration: 1 month to 12/31/2025 pending project funding confirmation to extend further
Strong possibility of extension for a total of 1 year contract & possibility conversion to FTE
Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week
NOTE on contract Duration: This is a one-year initiative, scheduled to commence on December 1, 2025. It is essential to onboard the resource promptly to meet the project timeline.
As the project funding source is not yet available, the hiring process will use another one in the interim hence why the initial contract is until December 31, 2025. A subsequent contract extension will be provisioned once the project funding becomes available and will be aligned with the project’s financial framework.
Story Behind the Need
- Business group: BE CRM and Sales - Performance engineering team, part of Customer Servicing engineering in Digital, focused on providing solutions that assist front line staff across channels in deepening relationship with customers, providing better service and offering better products to them, and help improve sales & productivity along the way.
- The group is a mix of architects, technology leads, business systems analysts, designers, SMEs, developers, and testers who innovate and transform, develop customer servicing technology roadmaps, ensure end-to-end project delivery, support day to day operations, write technical stories, develop and test code, manage stakeholders and related teams.
- Project: Dedicated resource is required for the Software Currency Project specifically for the migration of Sales Hub and Customer Management Interaction (CIM) applications to the Talend Platform - project has yet to begin, contractor will be working on requirements gathering, development, testing and implementation execution through the year.
Typical Day in Role:
- The Delivery Manager ensures delivery of software products within Digital Banking Canada. The Delivery Manager coordinates development and delivery activities and ensures deliverables are of the highest quality while adhering to defined release, change, project and architectural standards and methodologies by leveraging an agile scrum team (Product, Engineering, Agile, Design).
- The primary accountability is the execution of shipping software based on the product roadmaps and technical release plans developed by the Leadership Team. It is also including the identification, escalation and removal of release and team impediments.
- Responsible for the execution of day-to-day project and task-oriented work efforts and meeting project expectations for established time, cost and specification definitions.
- Responsible for assembling and implementing project plans including release plans.
- Responsible for providing regular, standardized reporting for team performance: velocity, stories completed and project status
- Builds and maintains solid, professional working relationships with peers within the project management and business lines.
- Meets scheduled milestones to ensure project/program objectives are met in a timely manner, has an in-depth knowledge of the principles, theories, practices and techniques for managing the activities related to planning, managing and implementing software solutions.
- Works with team to identify roadmap/feature dependencies and impediments. Accountable for tracking the dependencies and impediments and removing them to enable the team: surface, track, escalate.
- Regularly communicates with other scrum teams to ensure tactical story alignment and identifies/tracks dependencies between team.
- Provide standardized reporting for 1) team performance: velocity, stories completed, 2) project status.
- Budget: accountable for awareness and communication to stakeholders.
- Tooling: ensures team has access to necessary software, hardware, testing devices, etc. and makes recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Provides feedback on individual performance Triad leads with team awareness.
- Engages stakeholders (e.g. risk, legal, audit) as needed for consultation and counsel throughout the course of the project.
- Administrative: ensures the completion of required forms and processes for Bank-wide release management, including the OR/NIRA process. Maintains vacation schedules and makes resourcing recommendations.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 7+ years professional work experience in software delivery in IT space
2) Requires expert knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (Microsoft tools - MS Project Visio, Excel, PowerPoint)
3) Experience with Agile delivery
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) bank experience considered a bonus
2) Software currency project experience is an asset
Education:
Bachelors in technical field preferred - engineering, computer science
CSM/PSM, PMP is an asset
Best VS. Average Candidate:
Understanding of technical terms, has a strong technical background; is able to showcase successful implementation of enterprise-wide technical projects; good soft skills.
