Senior ETL Developer with Collibra experience to support a Data Governance project with one of our major banking clients- 39904


Location Address: Hybrid - Toronto (2-3 Days on Site)

(Subject to change: 3-4 days onsite may be required based on business needs

Contract Duration: ASAP to Oct 31, 2026 - approx. 6.5 months (Possibility of extension & conversion to FTE)

Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week

Story Behind the Need

Business group: GBME - Risk Technology

Project: GRM Data Governance COE - This role supports the BA team by interpreting code, assisting with lineage mapping, validating data transformations, and configuring data governance rules in Collibra.

This role is NOT a full programming role but is hands-on with multiple technical stacks.

Role Summary

A hybrid ETL developer + data governance analyst who helps BA teams understand application logic, ETL pipelines, and data transformations to support lineage and data quality.

Typical Day in Role:

Technical Analysis & ETL Interpretation

• Reviewing SAS, SQL, Informatica, ADF, dbt, or similar ETL pipelines.

• Explaining transformation logic and data flow to BAs who are documenting lineage.

Data Governance Technical Support

• Helping configure Collibra assets, workflows, and CDE-related DQ rules.

• Validating lineage and DQ rule feasibility from a technical perspective.

Cross-Functional Support

• Acting as the “technical translator” between development teams and business analysts.

• Investigating technical issues or unclear transformations when BAs cannot read code.

Documentation Assistance

• Contributing to architectural diagrams, mapping documents, and flowcharts.

• Ensuring documentation accurately reflects technical reality.

Solutioning

• Participating in design discussions for Phase 2 of the project.

• Evaluating how data quality rules can be integrated into technical stack components.

Candidate Value Proposition:

The successful candidate will work across multiple teams such as Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Lines of Business to improve data transparency, trust, and control through Collibra and associated governance processes.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

1) 10+ years of relevant working experience

2) 5+ years experience as an ETL developer

3) 1+ year of hands-on Collibra experience (Governance Center, Catalog, Lineage, Workflow).

4) 5+ years’ SQL development experience

5) Experience with some of these, please list which: SAS Viya, ETL tools (Informatica, ADF, dbt, or other), and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)

Nice-To-Have Skills:

1) Experience in regulatory environment

2) Experience with OSFI deliverables

3) Experience form FI

4) Experience with CI/CD pipelines


Education:

Bachelor’s in technical field

Best VS. Average Candidate:

• Full-stack ETL background

• Can interpret complex ETL logic quickly

• Supports BAs with minimal supervision

• Able to hit the ground running with minimal ramp up time (for all positions)

Candidate Review & Selection - Interview Process

1st round Video - 45 minutes - with HM - technical interview - technical questions, may need to write some code (ETL/SQL)

2nd round interview in person 44 King - 1 hour - with another senior manager - technical + behavioral
