Senior Data Engineer - Building Enterprise Snowflake Platform on AWS (Data & AI Transformation) - Remote

Duration: 6 Months to start (high possibility of extension)

Location: Remote (EST Hours Preferred)

Our client is building a modern enterprise data platform and is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help design, build, and mature a Snowflake-based data platform hosted on AWS.

This role will focus on establishing the core data engineering and infrastructure foundation in a green environment, enabling reliable data ingestion, transformation, observability, and scalability to support downstream analytics and AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build a modern enterprise data platform using Snowflake on AWS
• Develop and maintain data ingestion (API, Batch, Streaming and CDC) and transformation pipelines using DBT
• Build and maintain canonical data models with focus on optimization of data structures based on consumption patterns
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using GitLab
• Work closely with cloud and platform teams to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure
• Integrate data from SAP S/4 RISE on AWS into the enterprise data platform
• Establish data quality and observability practices (Monte Carlo is a strong plus)
• Support the migration from a legacy Azure-based environment to AWS
• Contribute to architectural decisions as the data platform continues to evolve

Must Have:

• Senior Data Engineer with hands-on production experience
• Expert-level Snowflake (architecture, performance tuning, modeling)
• Strong DBT experience building and maintaining production pipelines
• Strong AWS experience (S3, Lambda, MWAA, DynamoDB)
• Experience building ingestion frameworks (API, Batch, Streaming, CDC)
