Senior Business Analyst with Python/SQL experience to support a Retail Credit Regulatory Project with one of our major banking clients- 39932
Location Address: Hybrid - Toronto - 2 times/week (currently Monday, Tuesday - subject to change based on application team availabilities)
Subject to change: 3-4 days onsite may be required based on business needs
Contract Duration: ASAP to Oct 31, 2026 - approx. 6.5 months (Possibility of extension & conversion to FTE)
Story Behind the Need
The GRM Data Governance COE is spearheading regulatory data lineage and data quality uplift initiatives tied to OSFI guidelines (e.g., Guideline E-23, Data Risk).
Supporting the RESL (Retail Credit) regulatory project involving model development, regulatory alignment, and cross-functional analysis. Requires a BA with strong documentation, technical acumen, and ability to work with modeling teams
Role Summary
This BA bridges between risk model development teams, technology teams, and governance stakeholders. The role blends regulatory analysis, technical requirements gathering, SQL/Python investigation, and architecture documentation.
Typical Day in Role
• Work with modeling teams to gather requirements and validate technical specifications
• Document architecture, data pipelines, and transformation logic
• Conduct data investigations using SQL + Python
• Support regulatory compliance activities
• Participate in workshops with risk, finance, and model developers
• Assist with data lineage (less hands-on than Nimrat’s roles)
Must-Have Skills
1. 10+ years BA experience
2. Experience working across multiple teams and functions to ensure alignment
3. 5+ years combined SQL + Python scripting experience
4. Experience with requirements, documentation, architecture artifacts
Nice-to-Have Skills
• Capital markets and/or retail credit exposure
• OSFI review or regulatory exam experience
• FI/banking experience
• Experience supporting application databases
• JIRA/Confluence experience
• Regulatory reporting & data controls experience
Education:
Bachelor’s - ideally technical field
PMP, BA certifications
