Description
Position Title: Senior Project Manager
6 months
Remote/Hybrid: Hybrid - Wednesdays &Thursdays and every 4th Friday
Office Location: 81 Bay 14th Floor
What does the LOB do:
Manages large-scale enterprise programs, including multi-year technology initiatives. Current focus is a large cloud data migration program moving Hadoop infrastructure to Azure Cloud.
Job Description:
Program Financial Management
• Owns and manages the financial health of a large, multi-workstream enterprise program.
• Consolidates individual project forecasts into a comprehensive program-level financial view.
• Validates accuracy of submitted financial data, identifies discrepancies, and works with project managers to resolve issues.
• Prepares monthly and quarterly financial reports for senior leadership, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
• Tracks budget allocations, actuals, variances, and forecasts; proactively addresses risks and escalates concerns when necessary.
• Supports annual planning and reforecasting cycles, ensuring alignment with enterprise financial objectives.
Change Control Management
• Leads the Change Request (CR) governance process for the program.
• Chairs the CR Council meetings, ensuring timely review and approval of all change requests.
• Manages the end-to-end CR lifecycle, including intake, impact assessment, stakeholder communication, and final approval.
• Updates program financials and schedules to reflect approved changes, maintaining transparency and audit readiness.
• Ensures adherence to enterprise change management policies and documentation standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance
• Works closely with multiple senior Project Managers, Program Leads, and cross-functional teams to maintain alignment across workstreams.
• Builds strong relationships with executive stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates on financial status and change impacts.
• Facilitates governance meetings, prepares executive-level presentations, and supports decision-making processes.
• Acts as a trusted advisor on program office best practices, driving consistency and efficiency in reporting and controls.
Program Delivery Support
• Assists with overall program delivery activities, including milestone tracking, risk management, and issue resolution.
• Ensures program documentation is up-to-date and accessible for audits and compliance reviews.
• Provides guidance on tools and processes for financial and change management within the program office.
Must Have Requirement:
• 10+ years Project Management experience (preferably via PCO route within banking).
• 5+ years executive-facing project management experience.
• Previous experience working within Big 5 Canadian banks.
• Strong ability to manage program-level financials and complex change requests.
• Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have:
• Experience with Cloud Data Migration (Azure preferred).
• Familiarity with The banking financial processes and enterprise program governance.
