Description
As an IDT Developer, you will have a strong grasp of the semantic layer and exactly how FI and CO module tables interact.
Core IDT Modeling Competencies
To build high-performance data foundations and business layers, your resource should possess the following skills:
- Relational and OLAP Data Modeling: Extracting and combining metadata from backend SAP HANA systems or data warehouses.
- Semantic Layer Design: Creating user-friendly hierarchies, custom measures, and dimensions in the Business Layer.
- Complex Joins and Aliases: Managing loops, contexts, and alias tables to resolve ambiguous SQL joins across finance dimensions.
- @Functions Utilization: Using built-in functions like @Prompt, @Select, and @Variable for dynamic data filtering and row-level security.
Key FICO Modules and Tables They Must Understand
As the SAP IDT developer, you must understand the backend tables to create accurate logical joins.
The core tables include:
Financial Accounting (FI) Tables:
- ACDOCA: Universal Journal Entry Line Items (the backbone of SAP S/4HANA)
- BKPF: Accounting Document Header
- BSEG: Accounting Document Segment (Line Items)
- SKA1 & SKB1: G/L Account Master Data (Chart of Accounts and Company Code) [1, 2, 3]
Controlling (CO) Tables:
- COBK: CO Object Document Header
- COEP: CO Object Line Items by Period (Note: Replaced by ACDOCA in S/4HANA).
- CSKS & CSKT: Cost Center Master Data and Texts
- CEPC & CEPCT: Profit Center Master Data and Texts [1, 2]
