Line of business: Term Investments

Duration: 12 months (Possibility of Extension)

Location: Downtown Toronto

Working hours: 11am-7pm EST preferred, 9-5 also available.

Role Mandate: This group focuses on Retail Investments, managing product & pricing for Term Investments (Guaranteed Investment Certificates).

Team Structure: More focused on independent work while maintaining a collaborative approach.

Role Responsibilities:

• Monitoring pricing/product exception request inbox

• Evaluate requests for rate or price negotiations

• Product management such as calculating penalty and interest for early redemption of GICs, approving more complex cases of backdating, cancellation and amendments.

• Calculate interest implications of aforementioned transactions, and act on behalf of business to judiciously provide approval to proceed with exceptions

• Support team in some daily/monthly reporting needs and analyze data to provide insights and recommendations

• Analyzes competitor pricing, assesses market share and margins, and tracks customer engagement to gain a complete picture of effective pricing strategies for product offerings and determine ideal target prices

• Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

Must Have Skills:

• Post-secondary degree in Business or a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Pricing analyst or other analytical experience: 3-5 years

• Beginner to intermediate Excel skills

• Analysis/problem solving background

• Ability to work with grey areas/ambiguity

Nice to Have Skills:

• Financial Industry background

• Genuine interest in investments

Interviews: 2 rounds, one with the Hiring Manager and one with other Mangers/Analysts. Candidates should prepare basic excel skills.
