Our financial services client is seeking a Payroll Analyst II (3-4 years) to support payroll operations using Workday and Canadian/U.S. payroll regulations

Join a collaborative HR operations team within a major Canadian banking environment. This role focuses on accurate data integrity, end-to-end payroll processing, and compliance across complex cross-border employee populations. The position offers exposure to senior leadership payroll activities and opportunities to work with multi-provincial and U.S. tax compliance requirements within a hybrid Toronto-based model.

Must Haves

• 3-4 years supporting payroll operations and expatriate administration across Canada and U.S. regulatory environments (CRA, Revenu Québec, IRS)
• Proficiency in Workday reporting and HR/payroll data integrity management
• Expertise in report reconciliation and excel-based analytics for tax and payroll validation
• Strong analytical and communication skills with attention to detail
• Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, data analytics, or computer science

Nice to Have

• Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or in progress
• Background in large corporate payroll environments
• Experience within the banking sector

Responsibilities

• Balance and complete year-end tax slips and government filings
• Support expatriate payroll and globally mobile employee processing
• Participate in internal and external audit activities
• Provide payroll and year-end slip support for executive and board-level groups
• Maintain accuracy of Workday payroll/HR data through testing and validation
• Review and reconcile PIER/Variance and retiree tax reports
• Respond to payroll inquiries through ServiceNow and partner with internal stakeholders
