Description
S.i. Systems client is looking for a Network Testing (QA Lead) for a replacement of aging data center technology assets project
6 month contract to start. At least 1 day/week onsite.
Project:
- This project has been initiated to replace aging data centre technology assets, including servers, storage, and network equipment at the Vancouver Data Centre (VDC) and Surrey Data Centre (SDC), to reduce operational and security risks, ensure vendor support, maintain resiliency standards, and uphold existing Service Level Agreements.
- The supporting system products delivered with this project will be built and developed using a traditional waterfall-style approach aligned with the client's PMO standards. The client will be working with an implementation partner to deploy the equipment and the QA Lead will have a key role in ensuring production readiness of the new infrastructure.
Must Haves:
- 3+ years of recent QA and Testing leadership (or equivalent) with infrastructure/platform/network programs.
- Demonstrated experience in vendor-led delivery governance.
- Strong understanding of Cisco networking concepts, converged infrastructure (FlexPod), virtualization (VMware), and storage/SAN fundamentals.
- Solid understanding of QA/Testing best practices, risk-based testing, and quality gates across the SDLC.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineeing, Information Systems, or equivalent.
Nice to have:
- Experience in a Unionized environment - exposure to Union organizations such as CUPE, COPE and CAW/Unifor is considered an asset.
Deliverables
1. QA/Testing deliverables and supporting documentation will be expected. These include, but are not
limited to, the following:
1.1. High-level QA/Test Plan & Strategy for Infrastructure & Network, aligned with TransLink
documentation expectations.
1.2. Risk-based Test Coverage map
1.3. QA & Testing artifacts, including test outcomes, reports, defects, checklists.
1.4. QA Gate Entry & Exit Criteria
1.5. QA Sign-off readiness assessment documentation and Go/No-Go recommendations
1.6. QA Go-Live/Cut-over checklists
1.7. Operational readiness runbooks, Knowledge Transfer/Training materials.
