Overview

Our client is seeking a Lead / Senior Data Engineer to support a growing Data Analytics and Engineering function. This role will play a key part in data architecture, governance, and delivery of data initiatives, including proof of concepts and enterprise data solutions.

This is an interim 6-month engagement with strong potential for impact across data engineering and analytics teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering initiatives including architecture, implementation, and deployment
• Support data governance and risk management frameworks
• Drive proof of concepts (POCs) for new data solutions and technologies
• Oversee and contribute to end-to-end data pipeline development
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineering teams
• Lead AI/data platform deployments and modernization efforts
• Manage and mentor team members (data engineers / technical staff)
• Support delivery of data analytics solutions for business stakeholders

Must-Have Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering / data architecture
• Proven experience in a lead or senior-level role with team or project leadership
• Strong experience with:
• Microsoft Azure
• Azure Synapse Analytics
• Azure SQL / SQL development
• Foundary
• Hands-on experience with:
• Power BI
• Data Lake architectures
• Experience delivering large-scale data implementation projects
• Strong understanding of data governance and risk frameworks
• Experience with AI/ML data environments or deployments
