Java/Springboot Developer to support API development with client in Insurance Industry

Role: Java/Springboot Developer

Location: Mississauga/Toronto (Hybrid - 1-2 days/week onsite)

Contract Length: 6 months + extension

Hours: 40/Week

We are looking for a Senior/Lead Java Spring Boot Developer to support API development across high-visibility digital platforms. This role is highly collaborative, working closely with cross-functional teams, frontline systems, and cloud-native environments.

• Lead development of highly scalable Java Spring Boot APIs.
• Integrate APIs with SDBs, frontline/contact center systems, Sonnet, and other internal services.
• Drive best practices around API deployment, authorization, and production readiness.
• Work closely with product, engineering, and agile teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Contribute to cloud-based development with GCP.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve issues, optimize workflows, and support continuous improvement.

• 5+ years’ experience with Java Spring Boot.
• Strong experience building and deploying APIs in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of GCP, cloud-based databases, and modern cloud-native patterns.
• Experience with Apigee (API Gateway) and Kafka is an asset.
• Strong understanding of API lifecycle: building, deploying, securing, authorizing.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
