Intermediate QE Automation Engineer to execute and create Mobile & Web Regression Test Scripts using Java, Selenium WebDriver, and Appium in a Banking Envi

Our banking client is seeking an Intermediate QE Automation Engineer to support their Regression Testing team responsible for validating all web and mobile releases (mobile app + web platform).

This role is primarily focused on executing, maintaining, and creating automated regression test scripts (85% automation) while collaborating with Agile squads (Developers, BAs, Product Owners, and QEs) to ensure release quality and production stability.

Start Date: ASAP

Location: North York, 3-4 days onsite (moving to 4 days in Fall); Steeles Office OR Downtown (Digital Factory - TBD)

Duration: 1 year

Standard Billable: 37.5 hours per week

• Execute and maintain automated regression test suites for web and mobile applications
• Create new automation scripts from scratch using existing frameworks
• Analyze batch test results, failure logs, and determine root cause (data vs script vs expected failure)
• Support production releases including off-hours testing when required
• Collaborate with Agile squads across mobile and web delivery streams
• Scope test cases based on requirements and support regression cycles
• (Approx. 80-85% execution/support, 15-20% new test creation)

• Strong automation testing experience (hands-on scripting)
• Mobile testing experience (Appium preferred)
• Java + Selenium WebDriver experience
• Experience with regression testing in Agile environments
• Experience writing and updating automation scripts from scratch
• Ability to support release cycles and occasional off-hours testing (on-call/early release support)
• Must have a go-getter personality

• Banking or financial services experience
• API testing experience (Karate or similar tools)
• Experience supporting high-frequency production releases
