Intermediate Business Systems Analyst with SQL and Python experience to support a Retail Credit Risk Project with one of our major banking clients- 39502

Location Address: Hybrid - Toronto - 2-3 days (Mondays, Tuesdays are mandatory) with subject to increase

Contract Duration: ASAP to 10/31/2026 - approx. 7 months (Possibility of extension & conversion to FTE)

Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week

Story Behind the Need

Business group: GBME - Risk Technology - GBME - Risk Technology Global Corporate Function (GCF) is the fast-moving, award-winning technology engine that powersbank’s Corporate, Investment Banking, and Capital Markets businesses.

Project: Several projects on the go they could be assigned to - one is IRB Model Adoption - expanding current risk application for small businesses - in execution phase; RRAE Team within GCF is searching for Technical Business Analyst to liaison between business stakeholders and internal engineering and architect teams, ensuring solutions are developed and delivered on time, efficiently and with high quality for various projects within GCF.

Typical Day in Role:

• Support production issues and handle escalations during Release cycles as needed.

• Strong analysis and investigation skills to determine root cause for ah hoc requests and summarize findings.

• Coordinate with upstream and downstream operational teams to ensure issues and operational changes are properly communicated to stakeholders.

• Develop and deliver Technical Specification Documents, Design Documents, Use Cases, and Process Models as required.

• Participate in the development of detailed project plans, the monitoring of progress against planned objectives, the financial review, and securing consensus and co-operation from users and senior management.

• Work closely across technology teams during all stages of the system development life cycle and bridge the gap between business and technology sides of the solution.

• Liaising between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions that meet user needs.

• Build relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues in Global regions.

• Augment/ produce documentation and artifacts.

• Perform ad hoc project-work on various projects.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

1) 3+ years’ experience as a BSA, with a proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver working results.

2) 2+ years’ scripting experience to create and run queries using SQL and Python

3) Experience working across multiple teams and functions to ensure alignment.

Nice-To-Have Skills:

1) Experience in capital markets or retail credit risk

2) Experience supporting application databases

3) Experience working with JIRA/Confluence

Soft Skills Required:

• Exceptional analytical, problem solving and communication skills

• A self-starter to independently resolve, investigate, and analyze requests, issues, and deliverables.

• Ability to adapt quickly to new processes and standards, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Education:

A recognized undergraduate degree or diploma in business administration, computer science or related field required.
