Intermediate Business Continuity Consultant to prepare vendor exit and transition plans with one of our insurance clients- 14926


Location Address: Hybrid/Toronto three times a week (Tues, Weds, Thurs)

Duration: 6 months

Hours: 37.5 hrs/week


Typical Day in Role:

  • Prepare transition plans for segment third-party vendors.
  • Act as a liaison for vendor reviews and contracts.
  • Support the operational business risk management framework by mapping different items on a daily basis.
  • Assist with disaster recovery and business continuity, supporting the new resiliency model that company is implementing.


Group Functions Technology:

  • Consultant, Business Continuity Management (Third-Party)
  • You will enable your business and IT partners to recognize and manage their information risk in a challenging and dynamic environment as part of a team managing the Group Functions Technology Business Resilience Program. You’ll work with business and IT partners to ensure key services, processes, systems, information, and technology for stressed/non-stressed Third-Party Transition/Exit Plans (Strategy). You’ll leverage teamwork and technology to deliver services when our clients need it most.
  • You will participate in key projects and initiatives ensuring information risk is always considered and managed.
  • You will join a team that works remotely, using collaboration tools, to enable and facilitate business goals while protecting our ability to deliver infrastructure services in support of our clients (internal and external).


Business/Operational Resilience & Third-Party Vendor Program:

  • Prepare and complete vendor exit & transition plans for segment critical third-party vendors
  • Act as the BCM contact for vendor reviews and vendor contracts, specifically for segment exit & transition plans
  • Act as the lead to test the exit third-party and transition plans
  • Work with vendors and internal partners to provide alternate work areas for critical business processes to continue with minimal interruption in case a primary work area becomes inaccessible for an extended period.
  • Engage Information Risk Management and other risk Subject Matter Experts, as required
  • Support Operational & Business Resilience Risk Management framework and processes (i.e business impact analysis, recovery time and point objectives, single point of failure and critical path mapping reviews, and coordinate the testing of Resilience Operations)
  • Provide advice, assistance, and support to BU’s, IT and other project teams.
  • Embrace and deploy innovative solutions to manage the information risk associated with new technology and new processes.
  • Support changes and projects:
  • Deploy ways to standardize and digitize the Resilience processes, working with IRM, Global Resilience, L2 and ORM functions to show a holistic view of Information Risk
  • Provide advice, assistance, and support to BU’s, IT and other project teams in the delivery of their projects or changes to ensure BC and DR considerations are included as required by Standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Share best practices with peers.


Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

1. 3 -5+ years’ experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Disaster Recovery, Business Resilience, Information Technology/Systems, Project Management, Vendor Management from a large, complex organization.

2. Professional certification in BCM; i.e., ABCP, CBCP, MBCI or MBCP a plus, or working towards obtaining certification.

3. Strong Personal Computing skills (MS Office) and some familiarity with BCM Planning tools and/or relational databases (e.g., Fusion Risk Management, PowerBI)

4. Broad understanding of system technologies and Business Resilience/Disaster Recovery tools and techniques.

5. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) including ability to develop and deliver effective user education sessions and a willingness to present to all organizational levels.

6. Proven ability to build relationship, engage and influence others.

7. Knowledge of OSFI (B10 & E21)


Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Experience with OSFI (B10 & E21)


Education:

• High School required.

• Certifications: Professional certification in BCM; i.e., ABCP, CBCP, MBCI or MBCP a plus, or working towards obtaining certification.
