Intermediate Business Consultant to implement modernized and sustainable solutions for delivering registry solutions to Albertans in an Agile environment (JP800)
**This is anticipated to be a remote role; however the resource may be required to attend meetings on site in Edmonton up to 4 times a tear (no travel costs are covered by the client) **
Must haves:
- 5+ years of experience documenting user requirements, business processes, and workflows
- 5+ years of experience gathering requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases or scenarios, business analysis, and business process modeling
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership and/or facilitation role
- 3+ years of experience working within an agile development environment
A combination of the following experience is also required:
- Active professional certification or accreditation in a related discipline from a recognized issuing body.
- Knowledge of various software development methodologies (i.e. agile, waterfall, scrum, Kanban, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience evaluating policies, programs, and initiatives using program development principles
- 3+ years of experience in gathering requirements from a diverse group of stakeholders across ministries or departments
- 3+ years of experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to plan and design creative solutions.
- 3+ years of experience with business writing, communication and documentation.
- 3+ years of experience with change management
Responsibilities:
Seeking a Business Consultant who is process oriented and experienced in gathering requirements, performing gap analysis, and working with stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet business needs and drive operational efficiency.
Responsibilities will include:
• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and conduct process walkthroughs:
o Identify goals and pain points through gap analysis on current state and future state business processes.
o Create, review and update user stories, personas and journey maps, as applicable.
o Create system use cases, flow diagrams and interactive mock-ups outlining functional requirements, as required.
o Document and validate results with subject matter experts and drive the creation of detailed business and functional requirements specification documents.
• Support development of necessary system (non-technical) documentation as well as make recommendations for policy and/or procedural manuals.
• Support change management and training to ensure delivery of complex program changes.
• Conduct post implementation reviews, assessing opportunities for backlog refinement and for continuous improvement.
• Liaise with security and privacy teams to complete security threat risk assessments and privacy impact assessments as required.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling and status reporting as required.
To be successful in this role, the Contingent Resource should have:
• Demonstrated experience conducting a gap analysis between legacy systems and modern solutions.
• an understanding of Agile framework (SCRUM) through demonstrated experience.
• a results driven mindset and able to function independently, while engaging with other stakeholders and team members as required to deliver outcomes.
• a thorough understanding and experience using an Agile/Hybrid approach. Experience with tools such as JIRA is preferred.
• knowledge of and the ability to apply and interpret complex legislations/regulations, policies, and standards.
