Our client is seeking an Intermediate AWS Cloud Systems Administrator to support cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and administration.

*Candidate needs to be based in Alberta*

Must Have:

• Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in Cloud Systems Administration, with an emphasis on cloud architecture implementation projects or related technology implementations.
• AWS experience
• AWS certifications.
• Diploma or degree in computer science, management, or engineering (recognized in Canada) or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts including principles of routing, client/server programming, and managing network services.

Nice to Have:

• AWS Advanced Networking specialty certification
• Experience applying cloud security rules, network security, and securing web transactions, applications, and forms.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and continuous improvement methodologies in cloud environments.

Description: This position is responsible for the system administration of the client's AWS cloud infrastructure, covering implementation, configuration, and deployment of cloud architecture, as well as issue resolution. The role supports strategic, operational, and project-based objectives, ensuring compliance with IT policies and security standards while contributing to continuous improvement and automation efforts within the cloud environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy custom workflows and scripts within AWS Cloud infrastructure.
• Perform system administration tasks including upgrades, problem resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Maintain and support cloud-based web servers and infrastructure.
• Assist in designing and implementing secure, scalable system architecture.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for AWS and system architecture.
• Create and manage repositories and registries for build/deployment artifacts.
• Implement and use automated testing frameworks for applications and infrastructure.
• Monitor AWS and Microsoft cloud infrastructure and address operational health issues.
• Ensure security, recoverability, and scalability in all designs and solutions.
• Create detailed process documents and standard operating procedures for cloud environments.
• Advise on capacity planning and cloud allocation.
• Participate actively in platform engineering squads, technical service desk Level 2 and 3 support, and other collaborative initiatives.
