Int. Metadata Lead with Collibra/Purview experience to enable the scanning of technical metadata, creation of the business glossary and lineage to support Metadata framework adoption (Insurance Client)

Duration: 8 Months (Extensions Likely)

Location: Hybrid (3 days/Week in Toronto or London, ON)

Role profile description: Lead and work with various platform and business teams to enable the scanning of technical metadata, creation of the business glossary, and support the business unit with the business metadata and lineage and Metadata framework adoption. The lead oversees the creation of metadata and linking resources and readers, helping users comprehend the derivation of information and processes, their interconnections, and their usage. The lead manages how to organize and analyze data, providing insights and creating reports for company decisions.

• Manages in reviewing data catalog for accuracy, and agreement with migration efforts of business metadata
• Creating classifications and technical lineage guidance in collaboration with the business units
• Lead and create and support technical metadata within Collibra from various data sources (primarily with Databricks Unity Catalog)
• Create process for data changes to include approvers and impact analysis (if required) to avoid data breakages and maintain metadata current in the entire flow
• Creating process and procedures to onboard the business units into the environment
• Lead in supporting business teams in using Collibra and other related metadata tooling solutions
• Lead in supporting role alignment within Collibra and other related metadata solutioning tools to enhance metadata roles implementation, cohesion, and adherence
• Identify potential risks and issues related to metadata

What you will bring

• Must hold or be eligible for Enhanced Security Clearance (Requirement = living in Canada for 5+ years, PR/Citizen)
• 5 to 7 years experience in leveraging Collibra, Purview, Informatica capabilities in an administrative and leader capacity
• Expert knowledge of metadata management, and other data governance principles
• Expert in classifying, cataloguing, and indexing data for easy retrieval and optimal usefulness
• Expertise in leading in in the development of data models and taxonomies
• Experience building business glossary and technical data lineage
• Experience in monitoring and testing functionalities and environments through metadata audits
• Ability to communicate technical details to a business user

Nice to have:

• Experience in data architecture or solutions architecture; or Collibra Ranger designation is a plus but not required
