Int Test Automation Engineer (Development-Focused) to develop and maintain robust automation frameworks across API, web, and mobile platforms for their emulator grid infrastructure.

Location: North York - Hybrid - 4 days in Office with occasional travel to DT

Duration: 1 year contract

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Int. Test Automation Engineer with a strong development background who has transitioned into testing. This is far less of a traditional Quality Engineering role and much more development-focused. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing features, building automated test solutions, and supporting our cloud-based testing infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for API, UI, and mobile platforms
• Contribute to feature enhancements with a development-first mindset
• Manage and maintain mobile emulator grid environments (Mac-based preferred)
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins (with future migration to GitHub Actions)
• Work within a fully containerized, cloud-based environment
• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Maintain and improve test automation frameworks written in TypeScript, Python / Java
• Support the development and maintenance of custom built accelerators and Micro Services

Must Haves

• Strong development background with hands-on coding experience
• Cloud experience (working with containerized solutions in cloud environments)
• Hands-on experience building and managing Docker containers
• Proven experience in API and mobile test automation
• Strong understanding of automation frameworks and best practices

Technical Environment

• TypeScript-based frameworks (API, web, and mobile)
• Karate framework for API testing
• Jenkins (current CI/CD tool)
• GitHub Actions (planned migration)
• Dockerized solutions in the cloud

Nice to Have

• Java experience, ideally with Spring Boot
• Experience managing mobile emulators or Mac-based emulator grids
• Experience working in Mac environments
• Linux experience
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions
